Dr. Ahmad Albshesh

Dr. Ahmad Albshesh is a senior physician at the Institute of Gastroenterology at Sheba Medical Center – Tel Hashomer, and a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University.

He is a specialist in gastroenterology with a subspecialty in gastrointestinal ultrasound and is considered one of Israel’s leading experts in inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis).

Dr. Albshesh completed his medical studies at the University of Göttingen in Germany and is licensed to practice medicine in both Israel and Germany. He completed his residency in internal medicine and gastroenterology at Sheba Medical Center. Currently, he heads the intestinal ultrasound program for inflammatory bowel diseases at Sheba, and serves as a member of the Israeli Society of Gastroenterology and Hepatology as well as a member of the Education Committee of the International Bowel Ultrasound Group (IBUS).

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Albshesh leads groundbreaking research in the fields of IBD and advanced intestinal ultrasound. His numerous publications appear in leading scientific journals, and he is a regular speaker at professional conferences in Israel and abroad.

Dr. Albshesh combines up-to-date medical knowledge, high-level technical skills, and a holistic approach to provide every patient with an accurate diagnosis, advanced treatment, and personalized care.
